Pun Choy also known as Big Bowl Feast is a traditional food originated from Hong Kong. It is served in big basins 'Pun' with layers of assorted vegetables, meats (chicken, duck) and seafoods (abalone, prawn, fish, sea cucumber, fish paw). Peoples normally have this during festivities such as Chinese New Year, Ching Ming and Chung Yeung festivals.

*Pun –choi’ (Pun - meaning big bucket or tray. Choi - meaning dish of food.) is one of the traditional style banquets dating back to the end of the Song Dynasty. The legend goes that two governors were fleeing from war and found refuge in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Villagers were astonished for having governors visiting their village. Wishing for securing future attention from the government, they were anxious to serve them the best they could. As crowds gathered to meet the two honorable guests, the poor villagers ran around to look for a container big enough to hold all the food that needed to be served. The only solution was putting the foods into a large wooden bucket. Since then, history has become tradition, and the wooden bucket has been replaced by other kinds of containers recently.
